The 50th Anniversary of Earth Day is April 22, and it's a big deal.  In a year of important elections, little rain, and climate activism, you can expect people to be talking about Earth Day 2020.  Luckily, there is an easy way for you and your business to act now and get positive notice for doing your part!

East Bay Community Energy (EBCE) is Alameda County's public agency providing clean electricity generation (PG&E still maintains the wires) to residents and businesses. They have been the default provider for businesses in most of Alameda County since 2018.  Chances are you already receive their power.  While their base generation mix (Bright Choice) is 85% carbon-free, you can do more by opting-up to their Renewable 100 option (100% Renewable generation from California wind and solar) for an additional cost. If you do so by March 20th and notify dkelly@ebce.org, they will make sure people hear about it by doing the following:

  • Recognize your business in-group print advertising in local publications including [Fremont Argus, Hayward Daily Review, or Oakland Tribune], including your company logo
  • Dedicate individual social media posts recognizing your business
  • Provide assistance in getting free recognition from the U.S. EPA Green Power Partnership

Interested in making a difference and letting it be known? Email dkelly@ebce.org for more information.
